I pride myself on the Imagiread Community Literacy Series Initiative and I always, always, ALWAYS look forward to the feedback that I get about each and every event.
In this instance, this event was very well-received and I didn’t wait around for anyone to tell me how much fun they had, I could very much tell. We had a blast!
The program started a little after 6 and by that point all of the artists had been prepped and ready to show and tell. It was amazing.
I know a few things stuck out to me and I shared those things with our small but vibrant audience. Those few things were why this event was taking place and that was because, first, it is important to visit perception. It is the ART of communication and by sponsoring an event to spectate the way artists communicate, we can see first hand how important it is to continue to grow in our dialog. Second, if we don’t foster environments where literacy is encouraged and sought after (as I have mentioned almost a trillion times by now) then our families cannot grow stronger in articulating individually nor collectively. Third, Life is ART and such we were able to view the very essence of life coming together right before our eyes, assuring us of the power of process.
Like I said, I had a wonderful time and checked in with everyone who said “This is fun, DO IT BIGGER AND BETTER! next time”. I’ve been listening and while I LOVE what I do I am going to take a bit of a rest to plan the next installment because yes, it must be BIG! Here are a few pics from the event. Finished pieces weren’t auctioned but anticipated to be exhibited at our dear friends, Khon and Ashley Lu’s, art bar here in Midtown. Enjoy the visuals and by all means HAPPY READING, IMAGIREADING that is!
