BOOK SWAP in THE bar????

At approximately 1:00 this afternoon I peeked at the sky and asked of it “raindrops for my head?”. It’s witty but clever response was “of course” and it was right then and there that I remembered I hadn’t planned a back up for rain.

Today’s original plan of having a “BOOK SWAP ON THE ROOF” turned into a “Book Swap in the bar” and when I say it was just as festive if not more so, I mean every word. I had a wonderful turnout and I met wonderful people. I made several announcements about ALL of the Summer Reading Campaigns in and around town and gave away two $15.00 gift cards courtesy of our dear friends at Half-Priced Books. My co-hostess with the mostest Ashley Lu made the most charming homemade books and journals with the kids and they had a blast. It was a most momentus occasion and I am once again honored at the love and support for these projects that I can’t help but continue them which is why we are off and running to promote the happening of “The Art(ist) of Storytelling: The Summer Solstice Celebration” on Wednesday June 20, 2012. It’s sure to be a crowd pleaser and I can but can’t wait for that one too!

At the wind down of the evening I had sold a few books (which I hadn’t planned on), collected monetary donations and toted away more than 50 books to redistribute to the residents at Settegast Heights Village in the coming week. The donations will allow me to plan and facilitate a working program assuring the complex have a healthy rotation of reading materials and feedback for the fall. I am still in awe of the success and almost know for sure now that each community event going forward will be an even greater success in one manner or another. I am constantly inspired by change and my goals are constant and continual thus are the people I reach. THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF THE CHANGE BE and by all means, KEEP READING!
